Lancefield, Victoria, is a small town in the Macedon Ranges. Because it lies east of the Calder Highway, this Macedon Ranges town doesn’t tend to get as much attention as Gisborne, Woodend or Kyneton.

Lancefield, does, however, offer a few attractions to tourists.

Things to do in Lancefield, Victoria: Federation Trail and Farmers’ Market

Top of the list of things to do in Lancefield is arguably the 15.9km return cycling trail from Lancefield to Romsey. The Federation Trail is fairly flat and easy-going, taking in bucolic countryside.

There’s also a farmers’ market, held on the fourth Saturday of every month. This takes place on Main Street and there’s usually live music to go along with the stalls selling local produce.

Things to do in Lancefield, Victoria: Lancefield wineries

The main reason to visit Lancefield, however, is the wineries. There are several options, with the Cleveland Winery being the big player. It offers a highly-commended restaurant, plus underground wine tasting. It’s also possible to stay overnight in resort-style accommodation.

Other Lancefield wineries include the Lyons Will Estate, Curly Flat Vineyard and Parkside Winery Estate.

If you’d like to tackle several wineries in one day, the Lancefield Lodge offers a wine tour. This tour stops at several cellar doors.

Lancefield restaurants

There are also several places to eat in Lancefield, including the Carriage House restaurant, Lancefield Hotel pub and the Lancefield Bakery.

Golfers, meanwhile, can have a round at the Lancefield Golf Club just north of Deep Creek.
